Vince : Thanks for joining me.
Myron Golden: Absolutely. My pleasure.
Vince: I’m just going to ask for your name and just a little bit about what you do.
Myron Golden: My name is Myron Golden and I teach people how to make millions of dollars from the stage.
Myron Golden: So I started out as an entrepreneur in multilevel marketing back in 1985 and I was horrible. So bad in fact that it took me a year and a half to earn my first paycheck. I eventually made a sale. Within a few months I became the top salesman in our office. People ask me, “Why, what happened? What was the transformation that took you from a year and a half not being able to make a sale to becoming the top salesman in your office?” And we sold financial services. I said, “I literally ran out of all the ways that wouldn’t work” and most people are unwilling to be bad long enough to get good. And I was willing to be bad long enough to get good. And so I got good at selling. I got good at recruiting, eventually, after about 12 years I think. And then after I got successful at network marketing, I got sick of it because company owners kept changing the plan and moving the target. I said, “I don’t want to do this anymore.” So I started out teaching network marketers how to do network marketing, that’s where it all started.
Myron Golden: It brought me all the way to here.
Myron Golden: The very first major personal breakthrough that I had, as an entrepreneur, was when I discovered in April of 1999 that it is easier to make a lot of money in a short period of time is to make a little money over a long period of time. I wasn’t looking for it, I didn’t know it was true. After making $48,000 in 1998, in April of 1999 I accidentally made $6,100 in one week. And I said, “Wow.” And then I said it backwards. I said, “Wow.” And then I said, “Wow, I can’t believe how easy it was.” And then I said, “I’ve got to do this again as soon as possible.” And then I concluded, “Hmm, that was easy. That must mean that it’s easier to make a lot of money in a short period of time than it is to make a little money over a long period of time. For the rest of my life, I’m going to look for the easy ways to make a lot of money and stop looking for and focusing on the hard ways to make a lot.”
Myron Golden: The greatest business breakthrough that I have had is probably collapsing timeframes through high ticket sales. So it’s very similar to the personal breakthrough, but it’s different. It’s easier to sell a high ticket offer than it is to sell a low ticket offer. It takes no more energy, no more effort, no more vitality to sell a 25 or 30 or 50 or a hundred thousand dollar offer than it does to sell a $500 program. So that was the breakthrough. Make more high ticket offers, make more high ticket offers more often.
Vince: So I noticed that between the two, there’s a little bit of an overlap.
Myron Golden: There’s a little bit of an overlap.
Myron Golden: Yeah, absolutely.
Vince: Would you say that learning, adapting and combining both of your lives?
Myron Golden: So I would say … In fact, it’s so weird that you’d asked me that question because I just shared with somebody a few minutes ago that people think that you’ve got your entrepreneurial life in one compartment, your spiritual life in another compartment, your family life in another compartment, and your business life in another compartment, and your finance … No, your life is one life and it’s all interwoven. And I heard somebody say one time, “I don’t know that I agree with this wholly but I’m sure I agree with it some.” How you do anything is how you do everything.
